Details: A very nice example of a British cased 18K gold Omega Constellation . It was common practice for watch manufacturers to ship only the movement to countries where import taxes on complete gold watches were prohibitively high. These movement would then be cased in the country they were to be retailed. Omega collaborated with British case makers Dennison Watch Case Co. and David Shackman & Sons. This watch was cased by the latter and has the ‘D.S & S’ mark on the clasp along with 18K gold London assay marks.
The bracelet and case are in very good condition, especially considering 18K gold is a relatively soft metal. The observatory back is crisp and not worn / rubbed and the bracelet length will fit larger wrist sizes.
The movement is a Cal.564 with serial number 26,94X,XXX which dates it to circa 1968.
The case lug is hallmarked with 18K gold marks. The inside of the case back has Omega Watch Co. stamps and is London assayed as 18K gold with date letter ‘n’ for 1967.
