Description: A beautiful brass binnacle by Kelvin, Bottomley & Baird, Glasgow.
The gimballed compass is in good order and the brass work is nicely polished.
It is a lovely size for display on a sideboard or coffee table.
The Faithful Freddie was an unusually small size ships compass binnacle, so that it could be carried up to the top of a Royal Navy submarine conning tower through the small watertight hatches. They were produced from 1909 up until after WW2.
